Data traffic by the numbers

Mobile data usage is growing exponentially, with no signs of slowing down. some of recent studies on the expansion of mobile information traffic include a number of stars that area unit ought to have note.
On the U.S. front, a June, 2014 report from CACTI-The Wireless Association The Wireless Association indicates that the whole quantity of data handled by wireless carriers within the U.S. quite doubled in 2013, with the average connected carrying just over 800 megabytes of knowledge a month per subscriber (the largest portion being video). All in all, U.S. carriers saw three.2 bytes (i. e. 10 x 18 bytes, or one billion gigabytes) of knowledge traffic across their networks.

According to this study, U.S. subscribers:
Spent 218 billion minutes per month talking (average of 650 minutes per month per line)
Sent 153 billion text messages (457 messages per line)
Sent ten billion multimedia message (30 per line)
Overall, world mobile information traffic grew eighty one in 2013 (putting the U.S. ahead of the curve), reaching 1.5 e bytes per month. Of that, fifty three was video.

526 million mobile devices and connections were extra in 2013 growing to seven billion (77% of that was smartphones).
While good devices delineate twenty seventh of the whole mobile devices and connections in 2013, they accounted for ninety fifth of world mobile information traffic.
Smart devices generated 29 X a lot of traffic than a non-smart device.
Nearly twenty two million wearable devices generated one.7 bytes of monthly traffic.
Mobile-connected tablets increase two.2-fold to ninety two million, with every generating two a lot of traffic than the common smartphone.

There’s always a wealth of numbers to be found on the growth of mobile information traffic, and therefore the information we have a tendency to shared from these 2 reports solely bit the surface of the insights being generated from mobile information traffic usage. From our perspective it’s pretty simple: with a lot of and a lot of people touch the information bandwagon, the longer term is looking terribly bright so for enabling technologies like Cel-Fi.
